Twas the Scam Before Christmas

Happy Friday. My how 2022 seems to have flown by, hasn't it? Please know that I appreciate you taking the time to read my emails and share my desire to help keep the community safe from cybercrime. I have a fun, short poem for you below, Twas the Scam Before Christmas - I hope you enjoy it and maybe even share it with family during the holiday festivities this weekend. Merry Christmas!

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the net Scammers were phishing to see what they get The emails were sent to folks everywhere In hopes to find clickers, who click without care The traps were all set with offers galore For discounts, or cruises, or gift cards, and more Some even threaten to pause your account If you don't click and pay some amount But luckily we are much smarter than they We've studied and trained in a practical way We see the signs of a suspected attack And thwart their attempt with a pat on the back We check that the mail is from a known sender And verify links to sites from each vendor We never fall for requests for quick cash And links to change passwords we put in the trash In the event, we're not sure if it's real We call the Help Desk to see what they feel They put the offender's name on a wall just kidding, they don't do that at all ;) The point is, be careful, and protect all our files So the users keep happy and management smiles We know it is hard, but keep up the fight and Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Stay safe out there.
